Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to frequently asked questions about our web-based SCADA solutions for industrial automation.

Q. What is a web-based SCADA/HMI?

A web-based SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) or HMI (Human Machine Interface) is an application that runs in a web browser. It visualizes real-time process data from sensors and PLCs, without the need to install specific software on the operator's computer. Our solutions run on a local edge-server in your factory.

Q. How is the connection to industrial hardware secured?

The data exchange between our interface and the PLCs or sensors takes place via secure WebSockets. The communication remains within the factory's local network (edge-server), which minimizes exposure to the internet. Additional security layers can be configured at the network level.

Q. On which operating systems does the interface work?

The interface is completely independent of the operating system. Because it runs in a modern web browser (such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox), it can be used on Windows, Linux, macOS, and even on tablets with a suitable browser. The only requirement is a network connection to the local server.

Q. Can existing PLC systems be integrated?

Yes, in most cases. We develop custom-made interfaces that can communicate with various industrial protocols (such as OPC UA, Modbus TCP, Siemens S7). Please contact us for an analysis of your specific hardware.

Q. What is the advantage of a custom-made interface versus a standard SCADA package?

A custom-made interface seamlessly integrates with your unique process, workflows, and corporate identity. It is often faster, contains only the necessary functionality (no unnecessary license costs), and can provide a more user-friendly, modern dashboard than generic software, specifically designed for your operators.
